If Content Is King, Who's The Queen?
With content always being called the king, the one who's in charge, then I think it's only right to call the headline the queen. She's the one that grabs your attention, gets noticed at the parties, and usually is the one who can truly influence what direction the king goes. You need to take care of your queen and then she'll make sure the king takes care of you.
Now if we have the king and queen decided on, then we need to pick out the prince and princess. We need the whole royal family.
The interactions you get on and about your content are the younger aristocracies, the prince and princess. What I mean by the interactions is, the comments you get on your blog, the social share buttons your have, your twitter and facebook accounts/followers, etc. These things are very important in supporting the king and queen, but never replace them (unless, you know...).
Now we need to find out where SEO fits into the picture. (SEO is Search Engine Optimization - aka things you do to show up higher on the search engines) I believe the peasants can be compared to the SEO. They get their hands dirty, they work long hours, and the kingdom, the successful website, wouldn't exist if it weren't for the peasants. There's no king and queen if there aren't peasants in the kingdom to rule over.
I'm sure there are people in the kingdom and parts of a great website that I left out, like lords, dukes, bishops, etc.
Let me know what you think. Also, please share this with your friends on facebook, twitter, and on your blog.
